The China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) launched the 'Beautiful Heart Plan' and organized a working team to provide psychological assistance to people affected by the earthquake in southwest China’s Sichuan Province. The efforts are supported by Lefeng.

Members of the working team include experts and volunteers from the CWDF, the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Maple Women's Psychological Counseling Center and Sichuan University.

The team arrived in Sichuan Province on April 21, 2013, and went to Lushan County on April 22, 2013, where they guided the local doctors in providing psychological assistance to local residents. The experts also helped to counsel more than 200 migrant workers in Lushan County who were unable to get in touch with their relatives.

Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences associate researchers Liu Zhengkui, Zhu Zhuohong and other volunteers gave a family education class at a school in Longmen Country in Lushan County on April 23, 2013. More than 160 students and over 100 parents attended the class.

The 'Beautiful Heart Plan' will continue providing psychological assistance to women, children and senior citizens in the quake-hit areas of Sichuan in the future.
