The China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) has raised 800,000 yuan (US$ 129,440) to help the women and children affected by the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck Lushan County in Ya'an City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, on April 20, 2013.

According to the CWDF, they will use 300,000 yuan (US$ 48,540) to purchase 3,000 charity parcels under the Postal Parcel for Mothers project. The charity parcels each contain 100 yuan (US$ 15.89) worth of basic necessities. The remaining 500,000 yuan (US$ 80,950) will be allocated to rescue work.

The death toll has risen to 186, according to latest statistics gathered by the provincial emergency response command center. Twenty-one people are reported missing, and 11,393 others have been injured.
