The Xylem Watermark program celebrated the completion of its water project at the Hope School in Zhuzhen Town, Nanjing City, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, on January 16, 2013.

Secretary General of the China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) Qin Guoying and Vice President of Xylem's Chinese branch Lv Shuping attended the celebration ceremony and gave speeches.

The Xylem Company launched the Xylem Watermark global charity program during the 2008 World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden. In China, the company has rolled out the program with the collaboration of the CWDF to provide clean water and improved sanitation to schools in remote areas.

The Xylem Watermark program built a boiler house and renovated washrooms and other facilities for the Zhuzhen Hope Primary School, providing students and teachers with access to clean water. Volunteers also provided sanitation and health education classes for the teachers and students, advocating water saving and good hygiene habits.

The Xylem Company has allocated US$ 10.5 million to implement the Watermark program globally. In China, the program has provided clean toilets, washing equipment and sanitation education to 34 schools in 34 provinces and regions, including the Hebei, Yunnan, Guizhou and Jiangsu provinces as well as the Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang autonomous regions. The program has allocated US$ 1.45 million to benefit 50 schools in China by the end of 2013.
