China Women's Development Foundation hosted on May 25 a press conference in Beijing in which Vice Secretary General Zhu Xisheng named singer Ding Xiaohong as Publicity Ambassador of the Water Cellar for Mothers Project.

Ding announced at Wednesday's press conference the launch of the "One Yuan One Love" campaign to help needy mothers and children in western China. She will call on the audience at her upcoming concert to donate one yuan each towards the Water Cellar for Mothers Project.

Post-80s folk song singer Ding Xiaohong is proactive in charity work, having taken  part in the "Red Ribbon" charity gala and public activities to collect funds for quake-affected Yushu and needy women and mothers.

Ding is also ambassador of an environment-friendly action and health campaign.
