A distribution ceremony of the micro-credit loan projects’ funds for China Women’s Development Foundation (CWDF) and Coca Cola’s 520 Plan was held in a conference room of the Guilin Women’s Federation on January 17.

The “Coca Cola 520 Plan”, jointly launched by the CWDF and Coca Cola, is a project for assisting the poor and their start-ups. It aims to help impoverished women improve their skills, develop production, start businesses and find jobs through trainings and loans. It is a charity project that benefits many women, for it not only solves issues on production technologies, but also helps women financially. Guangxi Women’s Federation built the plan as a pilot project in Guilin. Eight trained sisters received an interest-free loan worth 20,000 yuan (U.S.$3,040) each in Guilin. At the distribution ceremony, Wang Shulan, vice president of the Guilin Women’s Federation, signed contracts with the sponsored sisters and distributed the money to them. She hoped that they could live up to the help and love of women’s federations by working hard, keeping promises and returning loans in time.
