Cooperation Projects

In June 2013, Diageo cooperated with China Women’s Development Foundation to establish the “Diageo Women’s Empowerment Fund”. Diageo planned to donate 1 million yuan (U.S$153,400) each year over the following five years, directly and indirectly benefiting approximately 100,000 Chinese women. This fund was set to provide rich professional training to Chinese women in need to promote their career development.
      In 2013, the first phase of the fund was implemented in Sichuan and Jiangsu Province. Embroidery training was held in Qingbaijiang District, Sichuan Province, directly and indirectly benefiting 400 and 10,000 women, respectively. Pastry cook training was held in Huai’an District, Jiangsu Province, training on opening a shop on Taobao was organized in Runzhou and Binhu districts and handicraft art training was launched in Quanshan District. All of these trainings held in Jiangsu Province benefited 619 women directly and 10,000 women indirectly. 
        In 2014, the second phase of the fund was implemented in Chengdu and Shanghai. Vocational training for female migrant workers was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province while comprehensive training on Women’s Leadership was organized in Shanghai. These trainings benefited 1,000 women directly and 15,000 women indirectly.
