Cooperation Projects

China Everbright Bank (CEB) joined forces with the Water Cellars for Mothers Project in 2005 to promote equal access to clean water in remote, rural areas. Since then, CEB has donated a total of 25.38 million yuan (U.S.$ 8.2 million) to the project. Water cellars financed by CEB have been implemented in provinces and autonomous regions of western China, including Ningxia, Gansu, Inner Mongolia and Shanxi.

CEB has also designed credit cards which raise money for the initiative and spread its influence through mentions on advertisements on buses and subways. CEB and the China Women’s Development Foundation (CWDF) worked together to create a photo exhibition in self-service banking stations which promote public awareness of droughts in western China.

CEB sends employees to education bases in areas that the initiative reaches to conduct in-depth research on the life experiences of people in water-deficient areas.
